Product Description

Easter Eggers (commonly but incorrectly referred to as "Ameraucanas/Araucanas") are a very unusual but popular type a chicken. They are mostly known for their ability to lay blue or green eggs, among other color. They are also a "landrace" breed, meaning they have a large gene pool and come in a variety of one-of-a-kind plumage patterns and colors. They can be a bit skittish, but personality varies by bird. They are considered good layers of large eggs - most give a shade of blue or green, but about 10-20% will give some shade of brown or cream. They often begin laying a little later than most breeds, at 22-28 weeks of age, and mature birds weigh 4-5 pounds.

Note that Easter Eggers are not a standardized breed and so are not suitable for exhibition or show.
