Barred Plymouth Rock

The Plymouth Rock is an American breed, and the Barred variety is one of the first created. These beautiful birds are often considered dual purpose fowl; however, our line is best suited for egg production and pet purposes. They are known for being friendly, and lay considerable numbers of large brown eggs. They weigh about 4-6 pounds at maturity and usually begin to lay between 20-26 weeks of age.

Buff Orpington

Buff Orpingtons are an English breed. They are considered a dual purpose breed but our strain is a production line mainly suited for use as egg layers and pets. They are a beautiful yellowish-gold bird with a calm disposition. They will lay a large tan or pinkish brown egg and typical begin to lay between 20-26 weeks of age. At maturity they will weigh about 4-6 pounds.

Easter Egger

Easter Eggers (commonly but incorrectly referred to as "Ameraucanas/Araucanas") are a very unusual but popular type a chicken. They are mostly known for their ability to lay blue or green eggs, among other color. They are also a "landrace" breed, meaning they have a large gene pool and come in a variety of one-of-a-kind plumage patterns and colors. They can be a bit skittish, but personality varies by bird. They are considered good layers of large eggs - most give a shade of blue or green, but about 10-20% will give some shade of brown or cream. They often begin laying a little later than most breeds, at 22-28 weeks of age, and mature birds weigh 4-5 pounds.

Red Sex Link

Red Sex Links (also known as Golden Sex Links or Red Stars) are a modern hybrid production breed. They are produced by crossing a Production Red with a Rhode Island White or a Delaware. They are excellent producers of large brown eggs - by the numbers, these birds are hard to beat! They also have friendly, calm personalities that make them great pets. They will usually begin producing eggs between 18-24 weeks of age, and typically weigh 4-6 pounds at maturity.

Black Sex Link

Black Sex Links (also known as Black Stars) are a modern hybrid production breed. They are produced by crossing a Production Red with a Barred Rock. They are excellent producers of large brown eggs - by the numbers, these birds are hard to beat! They also have friendly, calm personalities that make them great pets. They will usually begin producing eggs between 18-24 weeks of age, and typically weigh 4-6 pounds at maturity.

Golden Laced Wyandotte

The Golden Laced Wyandotte is an American breed. They are often considered dual purpose fowl, however our line is best suited to egg production or pet uses. They are popular backyard birds due to their beautiful colors, good dispositions, and excellent egg laying ability. They will lay a large brown egg, and typically begin to lay at 20-26 weeks of age. They weight about 4-6 pounds at maturity.

Silver Laced Wyandotte

The Silver Laced Wyandotte is an American breed. They are often considered dual purpose fowl, however our line is best suited to egg production or pet uses. They are popular backyard birds due to their beautiful colors, good dispositions, and excellent egg laying ability. They will lay a large brown egg, and typically begin to lay at 20-26 weeks of age. They weight about 4-6 pounds at maturity.

New Hampshire

New Hampshires are an American breed. They are good layers of large, brown eggs, and have very calm and friendly personalities. They can generally be expected to begin laying at 20-26 weeks of age and mature to 4-6 pounds.

Delaware

As their name suggests, this breed was developed in the state of Delaware. Originally one of the top meat breeds on the market, they have lost favor as table birds but gained popularity as pets and layers. This breed can be so friendly and curious it's almost annoying, and are impressive layers of large brown eggs. They will mature to 5-6 pounds and generally begin laying at 20-26 weeks of age.

Australorp

Australorps are an Australian breed, created from Orpingtons and various other breeds. Our strain is a production line mainly suited for use as egg layers and pets, but what great egg layers and pets they make! They have solid black plumage with green or purple iridescent highlights, and have a calm disposition. They will lay a large tan or pinkish brown egg and typical begin to lay between 20-26 weeks of age. At maturity they will weigh about 4-6 pounds.

Brown Leghorn

Leghorns are an Italian breed, and are well known as one of the best layers in the world. Though Brown Leghorns are less common than White Leghorns, they are just as good of layers and even prettier in color! These birds will produce numerous large, white eggs, and typically begin laying at 18-24 weeks of age. They are a smaller breed, and will mature to 3-5 pounds. Although they are some of the best layers in the business, they do have a skittish and high strung personality, and do not make the best "lap chickens."
